Kcteabag I originally purchased a heavy duty version of this and decided I needed a lighter weight jacket for everyday wear. Car hart products rock! They are sturdy and wear well. I love that all their jackets have real pockets that will hold phones, wallets or money and not just half pockets.

I love this coat , I wish they had more colors.

horselady I bought this jacket for the cool mornings and evenings in the mountains when we go camping with horses and friends. I am 5'8", 145 pounds, and always have a hard time deciding between a medium and large. I bought a large to avoid having the jacket too tight across the chest and too short in the sleeves (my typical problems) I might have gotten along fine with a medium. I'll keep it, though, because there is plenty of room for layering.

Outdoor enthusiast I wanted a good field jacket that would withstand dirt and walking through brush. This jacket would do that but I didn't like the fit. I ordered a size bigger than usual, but the shoulders were way too big and boxy and the bottom was too tight across my hips.

I returned this and ordered the Carhartt traditional arctic coat, and I like this coat much better. It's longer and fits great in my usual size.

Montanamom This is the 2nd and 3rd jackets in this style I have purchased. These ones were for gifts for people who come and visit us in the woods. One was for a 5' 6" teen weighing 120lb. Hers was a small, but it was not long enough for her even though the width was right. We sent it back to exchange for the med, since it does get longer as you size up. For the other gift, the xsmall was shorter still, but not much narrower, if at all. Maybe the xsmall is more petite than narrow. In any case, great jacket. I have had mine for a year and I LOVE it. Still looks great and have washed and dried several times in the machine. That's why I had confidence to buy them as gifts!

Football Lover Overall, the jacket was good for the price. It was on sale & I would have never paid full price for it. I ordered the teal one and the color is great. The jacket is pretty puffy/bulky, particularly in the shoulder & bust area (and I have broad shoulders, so it's not common for something to be big in the shoulders on me). The jacket is shorter than I would have liked & small the waist/hip area. It almost seems like its design & cut are more for a man than a woman. I am keeping the jacket because it's warm & I'm hoping it will go nicely with bulky things like hoodies underneath it for really cold times.

Farmer Marie Originally ordered a size small (I'm 5'5, 120 or so) but the fit was too small for work purposes. I've worn men's Carhartt for years (jeans/pants) and wasn't sure of a woman's fit. I ended up exchanging for a women's large to accommodate sweaters/layers and it fits perfectly. I am hard on my outdoor clothing-- farm work-- and am pleased to finally have a Carhartt jacket. It's nice enough to wear around town, too. WARM enough to wear in difficult conditions as well. Great product, terrible sizing!

Earthbabe I'll use this jacket for outdoor work in the spring and fall and it's nice enough to wear into town with jeans. The material is rugged enough for outdoor work and yet it's styled for a woman. I'd tried the men's and the cut just wasn't right, too wide in the shoulders and too narrow in the waist. This jacket is cut for a woman and I like the flattering seams on the back. Plus it's roomy enough for another layer in colder weather without being oversized. This looks like a jacket that will last many years. I'm very pleased with the jacket and the price.

Canuck Shopper Love this jacket. I checked true to size, but it is a shade on the roomier side - I could have ordered a small and the fit would still be great. The medium still fits me great and gives me room for a nice Carhartt hoodie if I need to layer up later in the cold weather. Love the colour (Vintage Rose). It's not overly feminine - has kind of a nice southwest flavour to it. I like the slightly longer sleeves that Carhartt puts on its tops and jackets.

WestportLaurie I know other farmers who rave about Carhartt products but I just can't drag myself to keep this jacket. Zipper is very sticky and feels like it could break at any time. Sizing is too small, which I've noticed with both women's and men's Carhartt, but the big drawback is the rough texture of the cotton and its bulk (I suspect w/ multiple washings it would soften). I know this would be the perfect barn jacket - warm and sheds hay - but it's stiff and bulky and I just don't love it. I still prefer layering fleece w/ a Gortex outer layer.
